I read an article the other day which discussed a new way of learning languages. It's main point was that classes such as "German and cooking" and "French and painting" were perhaps a better way to teach people languages than just a straight language class. The point being that delivering an activity in a foreign language would make it easier to absorb the material and make it more fun. Also people would be more likely to sign up to a double class as it's not as daunting as just a straight grammar/vocabulary thing. It's certainly an interesting idea, especially when I think back to those French classes I suffered through at school...
