Last night I finished reading 'Harry Potter und der Stein der Weisen' in German (I guess the title kinda gives it away). It was my first book in German and I started it with trepidation but finished with a warm heart (I think it's impossible not to read Harry Potter and smile). It was fun to read a novel in my third language, I was beginning to think my German had reached a plateau and would not move on... But as long as you don't get too hung up on understanding every single word - you can look up some but don't get carried away - it really starts to flow and that was cool! I don't know whether I'm going to read another book straight away in German, maybe I'll move back into English for a bit while I do some more work on the nuts and bolts of German, but it wa a great experience.
